Terms and conditions

These Terms govern your use of the SANAD Association website and the donations you make through it.

By using the website or making a donation, you accept them.
They should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Legal Notice.

1. Who we are
SANAD is a French non-profit association governed by the French Law of 1 July 1901. It operates under the Arabic name “مؤسسة سند للإغاثة والتنمية”.
Legal name (French): Association SANAD pour l'aide d'urgence et le Développement (SANAD ASSOCIATION)
English translation: SANAD Association for Emergency Aid and Development
RNA number: W751276287
SIREN number: 934 622 895
Registered office: c/o Sofradom, 142 rue de Clignancourt, 75018 Paris, France
Email: info@sanadcharity.org
Telephone: +20 10 5566 5128
2. Nature of a donation
A donation is a voluntary gift made without anything in return. It is not the purchase of goods or services.
The right of withdrawal that applies to distance purchases therefore does not apply. Section 8 explains when a donation can be refunded.
To donate, you must be at least 18 years old and use a payment method that you own or are authorised to use.
3. Donation amount and currency
You donate the amount of your choice, once or monthly.
Your bank or the payment provider may apply its own exchange rate and fees.
4. Payment methods
Payments are processed by PayPal, Viva, Wise and Anytime. You can pay with a PayPal account, a bank card or the available e-wallets (Google Pay, Apple Pay).
The website does not see or store your card details. Payment providers process them under their own terms and responsibility.
A payment provider or your bank may decline a payment for its own reasons; we are not responsible for this.
Once your payment succeeds, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive it, please contact us before trying again, to avoid donating twice.
5. Covering payment fees (optional)
You can add a small amount to cover payment fees, so that your full donation reaches its purpose. This amount is part of your donation and is included on your receipt.
The amount shown is an estimate. If it exceeds the actual fees, the difference goes to our programmes.
6. How donations are used
Your donation is used for the campaign or purpose you chose.
If a campaign reaches its goal, or donations exceed its needs, we direct the surplus to the closest similar campaign or need. We do the same if delivery becomes impossible for security reasons, border-crossing closures or legal restrictions. Wherever possible, we keep the same country and the same type of aid.
General donations are directed to the most urgent needs.
Part of the donations may be used to cover operating costs and bank charges, as decided by the Association and reported in its reports.
We deliver our projects through our teams and partners in the field. Timing depends on conditions on the ground, and we cannot guarantee a specific date.
Your donation is not linked to a specific beneficiary, except for sponsorship or where a campaign expressly states so.
Photos on campaign pages illustrate the nature of our work and may not relate specifically to your donation.
In using donations, we comply with international sanctions laws and anti-money-laundering rules.
7. Monthly donations
The amount is charged every month until you pause or cancel it.
You can pause, cancel or change the amount at any time from the “My Account” page or by contacting us. You can also cancel it from your PayPal account.
Cancellation applies only to future payments. It does not cover donations already charged, except in the cases set out in Section 8.
If a campaign reaches its goal, your monthly donation to it stops automatically and we will email you. You may then choose another campaign if you wish.
If payments repeatedly fail, the monthly donation may stop automatically, and we will let you know.
8. Refunds
Donations are, in principle, final. We accept refund requests in two cases:

You must contact us within 30 days of the donation date, stating its date and amount. We will review your request and, if accepted, refund the amount to the original payment method.
Fees deducted by the payment provider may not be refundable.
If a tax receipt was issued for the refunded donation, it is cancelled and must not be used.
Please contact us before opening any dispute with your bank or PayPal. A direct dispute costs the Association additional fees, which come out of funds intended for beneficiaries.
9. Accepting donations
We reserve the right to decline or return any donation without giving reasons.
We may ask for additional information before accepting certain donations, in line with our Privacy Policy, particularly for large or unusual donations or where their origin is in doubt.
10. Receipts
Confirmation email: sent after every completed donation. It is not a tax receipt.
Tax receipt: issued for donations that meet the conditions of French tax law (Cerfa n° 11580). You can download it from the “My Account” page.
To issue it, we need your full name and full postal address. You are responsible for the accuracy of this information.
The receipt relates to French tax law. We do not guarantee any tax benefit in another country. Any tax benefit depends on your personal situation and the assessment of the tax authorities.
We do not issue tax receipts for anonymous donations.
11. Orphan sponsorship
Sponsorship is a monthly commitment that you can stop at any time.
We share limited information about the sponsored child with you, in line with our Privacy Policy.
Sponsorship funds are spent on the child’s needs and on the orphan care programme the child belongs to.
The child’s circumstances may change, for example if the family moves or the child reaches the age of leaving the programme. We will then inform you and suggest sponsoring another child.
The sponsor undertakes to keep the child’s information and photos confidential, not to publish them, and to contact the child or their family only through the Association.
12. Religious donations
We carry out zakat, sadaqa (voluntary charity) and udhiya (sacrifice) in accordance with recognised practice and to the best of our ability. We do not issue religious rulings.
You are responsible for calculating the amount of your zakat.
Udhiya sacrifices are carried out in their season, in the country you chose or wherever delivery is possible. If this is not possible, we direct the donation to the closest similar alternative and inform you.
13. My Account
You sign in to “My Account” with your email address only, using a code we send to it, without a password.
You are responsible for the security of your email account. If you suspect someone else has accessed your account, contact us immediately.
We may suspend any account used fraudulently or in breach of these Terms.
You can ask for your account to be deleted in line with our Privacy Policy.
14. Permitted use of the website
The website must not be used for any unlawful purpose. In particular, the following is prohibited:

We may block any user who breaches these rules and report them to the competent authorities.
15. Content and intellectual property
The website’s content — text, photos and videos — is owned by the SANAD Association or used with the permission of its owners.
It may not be reused without permission, except for non-commercial sharing that credits the source and page link.
Republishing photos of beneficiaries outside our website and official accounts is prohibited, for any purpose. Our Legal Notice sets out these rules in detail.
16. Limitation of liability
We strive to keep the website’s information accurate and up to date, but cannot guarantee it is free of errors.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation of the website; we may suspend it for maintenance or security reasons.
We are not responsible for services provided by third parties, such as payment and email providers.
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our control, including armed conflict, disasters, border-crossing closures, government decisions and communication outages.
Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the law.
17. Personal data
Our Privacy Policy explains how we process your data and your rights. Our Cookie Policy describes the tools used on the website.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms at any time. The version published on the day of your donation applies to that donation.
For any significant change, we will notify monthly donors by email before it takes effect.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by French law.
Please contact us first so that we can try to resolve any dispute amicably. Failing that, the French courts shall have jurisdiction, subject to the mandatory rules that protect you.
20. Language of these Terms
These Terms are published in Arabic, English and French. In the event of any discrepancy between versions, the French version prevails.
