Cookie policy
This page explains the cookies and similar tools used on the Sanad website, why we use them, how long they last and how to change your choice.
Strictly necessary (always on)
These are needed to run the website and secure donations, so they do not require your consent.
- Session cookie (connect.sid): set by Sanad. Protects our forms against forged requests and keeps you signed in to your donor account. Deleted 4 hours after last use.
- Your cookie choice (sanad_consent): set by Sanad. Remembers what you chose in the cookie window so we don't ask on every page. Kept for 6 months, then we ask again.
- Chat (Voxent): a random ID is stored in your browser so your conversation continues as you move between pages. It is used for nothing else.
- Payments (PayPal and Google Pay): on donation pages, PayPal and Google set their own cookies to secure the payment and prevent fraud. These are governed by their own privacy policies.
Analytics (only with your consent)
- Google Analytics (Google Ireland): helps us understand how many people visit and which pages are most visited, so we can improve the website. Its cookies (_ga, _ga_*) last 13 months at most.
Advertising and campaign measurement (only with your consent)
- Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland): measures how well our Facebook and Instagram campaigns work. Its cookie (_fbp) lasts 3 months.
Analytics and advertising tools only run after you consent, and refusing them is as easy as accepting them.
Changing your choice
You can change your choice or withdraw your consent at any time via the "Manage cookies" link at the bottom of every page. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings; deleting the session cookie will sign you out.
