Two Years of «Sanad» In October 2024, Sanad Relief and Development Association was founded in Paris. Today, it completes its second year. Over these two years, Sanad has reached our people in Gaza, Egypt and Sudan with water, food, clothing, medical care and education. On this occasion, we are launching our new website, to be closer to our donors, and closer to those waiting for help. From an idea to an organisation When war broke out in Gaza in October 2023, many people tried to help in whatever way they could. Individuals raising donations, calls for help passing from phone to phone, and small initiatives for displaced people in Egypt. But the crisis went on. Early enthusiasm alone is not enough to face a prolonged catastrophe. This is where the idea of Sanad was born: to turn this effort into organised, institutional work that can last. Sanad was founded by a group of people in solidarity, eager to help the people of Gaza: lawyers, activists, journalists, researchers and businesspeople. They put their trust in God, despite the difficult circumstances. "It became clear to us that the catastrophe would be long, and that individual effort was not enough. Every effort had to become organised, institutional work, so that it could continue." From day one, Sanad has relied on donations from individuals around the world. These donors are the ones who made everything on this page possible. Two years in numbers These are the key figures from Sanad's records, from its founding in October 2024 to October 2026. We present each activity separately, because one family may benefit from more than one activity. Water and food • Nearly one and a half million litres of clean drinking water. • Nearly 60,000 meals. • 46,832 food parcels. [To confirm: parcel or family?] • 33,685 of bread, flour and pastries. • Rehabilitation of a water well. Child care and shelter • 1,767 orphan sponsorships. • 750 children in recreational days, psychosocial support activities and care in a shelter. • 120 children in the education initiative. • 2,076 of clothing, tarpaulins and tents. • 125 health parcels. Health and social support • 94 medical cases, including treatment, surgery, X-rays and lab tests. • 217 education support provisions for students, including school bags and tuition fees. • Preparing 17 brides from among orphans and the most vulnerable families. • 34 families receiving monthly assistance. • 13 families supported with rent and housing. • 4 calves and 5 sheep as sacrifices. Where we work Gaza is our first priority, and the largest area of our work: Sanad's charity kitchen, drinking water, food parcels, orphan sponsorship and shelter. Egypt is our logistics base for procurement and preparation. There, we serve families hosted from Gaza and Sudan, and the most vulnerable Egyptian families. Our work has expanded to Sudan, where we provide meals and food in areas of conflict and displacement. God willing, we aspire to reach our people in Yemen, Syria and Lebanon, and everywhere people need relief. Trust first We know that trust is not asked for; it is earned through work and clarity. • About 94% of our first financial year's expenditure went to direct assistance for beneficiaries. • Our accounts were reviewed by an independent audit firm. • Every disbursement is documented monthly in a register linked to invoices and supporting documents. • We issue monthly and quarterly implementation reports on our work in Gaza, Egypt and Sudan. • Every donor receives a numbered receipt for their donation. Sanad's website in its new look The address is the same: sanadcharity.org. But the website has become easier and faster. For donors • A personal account for every donor. Go to sanadcharity.org/ar/account and enter the email address you donated with. You will receive a link and a 6-digit code, with no need for a password. • In your account, you will find your donation history and your receipts, and you can download them at any time. • Your monthly donation continues automatically, with the same method and on the same date. No action is required from you. For our people in need • Families can now submit requests for help directly through the website. The Sanad team reviews each request according to clear criteria and contacts the people who submitted it. Alongside them, a team of volunteers oversees Sanad's digital work out of love and as volunteers. To all of them, our sincere thanks.
